Christian Scientists love the Bible! So our Reading Room sells Bibles (in several languages) and Bible study aids. We also sell Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy’s book that helps us understand the spiritual power of the Bible. Her other writings are also of interest to spiritual seekers, and we stock them, too. We have all the publications of the Christian Science Publishing Society, including church magazines and The Christian Science Monitor, an award-winning international newspaper. We have biographies of Mary Baker Eddy, books on church history, and CDs of inspiring music. All these items are available to buy, borrow, or read in our study room. Many are also available online. Our Reading Room is in downtown Edmonds half a block south of the Edmonds fountain on 5th Avenue. Free parking is available in the lot behind the building. Everyone is welcome here, so please drop in! Jesus's Sermon on the Mount Readings
All are invited to attend Tuesday evening group readings of Christ Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, Matt. 5-7. These will take place on Zoom during the first three weeks of each month on Tuesdays, 7:30-8:15 pm. The Zoom access is the same as for our church services—please contact the clerk at [email protected] for more information.
Mary Baker Eddy commented in her Message to The Mother Church for 1901, To my sense the Sermon on the Mount, read each Sunday without comment and obeyed throughout the week, would be enough for Christian practice. If you would like to develop your Christian practice, please bring your Bible and join us! Please feel free to invite your friends, too. You may choose to read a section of the Sermon aloud or just listen. |
